Doctoral Thesis - Congratulations to Farooq Ahmad
On 11th July 2016, M. Farooq Ahmad successfully defended his PhD with highest distinction under supervision of Prof. Eric de Bodt at SKEMA Business School and Université Lille 2, and is now Assistant Professor of Finance at IESEG School of Management in Paris. His research interests include the area of corporate finance and corporate governance. The title of his PhD dissertation is “Institutions and International Mergers and Acquisitions activity”. This research explores the effects of labor market institutions as a formal constraint and national culture an informal constraint on different mergers and acquisitions decisions around the world. He has been a visiting PhD student under supervision of Prof. Jarrad Harford at Foster School of Business, University of Washington, United States
Before joining PhD program at SKEMA Business School, he completed his BBA and MBA degrees from International Islamic University Islamabad with distinctions. After four years’ experience of Internal Audit in one of the leading banks, he decided to join academia. To survive in this competitive profession, a PhD degree is mandatory and Msc degree in Management Science from IAE de Lyon was the first step towards achieving this milestone.
